C-1. G e n e r a l .
a. This section provides a general explanation of all maintenance and repair functions authorized at various
maintenance
levels.
b. Section II
designates overall responsibility for the performance of
maintenance functions on
the identified
end item or component. The implementation of the maintenance functions upon the end item or component will
be consistent with the assigned maintenance functions.
c. Section IIl lists the tools and test equipment required for each maintenance function as referenced from
d. Section IV contains supplemental instructions, explanatory notes and/or illustrations required for a particular
maintenance
function.

a. G r o u p N u m b e r . C o l u m n 1 . The assembly group is a numerical group assigned to each assembly in a top
d o w n breakdown sequence. The applicable assembly groups are listed on the MAC in disassembly sequence
beginning with the first assembly removed in a top down disassembly sequence.

The maintenance functions are defined as follows:
A - Inspect. To determine serviceability of an item by comparing its physical, mechanical, and electrical
c h a r a c t e r i s t i c s with established standards.
B - Best. To verify serviceability and to detect electrical or mechanical failure by use of test equipment.
